Leadership
Sharon L. Mueller retired from a career in financial management to pursue a life-long interest in the world of philanthropy. She has a BS in Accounting and a Masters in Taxation, and she is a non-practicing CPA.
Ms. Mueller spent her early career in a number of corporate financial positions at GD Searle and Intel. She formed her own tax and financial consulting firm in Portland, OR, specializing in financial management of small business and start-up organizations. Ms. Mueller has served a variety of civic and cultural organizations, bringing her care about charitable enterprises and financial expertise to those roles.
She joined the Board of Trustees of National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) in 2000. Ms. Mueller served as NPT Board Chair from 2001 to 2005, was named Chairperson Emeritus in 2005, and rejoined the board in 2008. She has been actively involved with the Dr. Robert C and Veronica Atkins Foundation Board since the Foundation's formation.
