Leadership The Dr. Robert C. and Veronica Atkins Foundation is governed by an active Board of Directors, chaired by Mrs. Veronica Atkins. Board of Directors Veronica Atkins Eileen R. Heisman Sharon L. Mueller Administration Abby Bloch, Ph.D. Christina Miller Sharon L. Mueller retired at age 50 in order to pursue a life-long interest in the world of philanthropy. She has a BS in Accounting and a Masters in Taxation, and is a non-practicing CPA. Ms. Mueller spent her early career in a number of corporate finance positions at GD Searle and Intel. She formed her own tax accounting firm in Portland, OR, specializing in financial management of small business and start-up organizations. Ms. Mueller has served a variety of civic and cultural organizations, bringing her enthusiasm and financial expertise to those roles. She joined the Board of Directors of National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) in 2000 and became Chair later that year. Ms. Mueller has recently been reelected for another term as Chair. She has been actively involved with the Dr. Robert C. Atkins Foundation during its time of transition to the stewardship of NPT.
