Heisman Sharon L. Mueller Administration Abby Bloch, Ph.D. Christina Miller Eileen R. Heisman, ACFRE, was named president of National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) in 1998 after serving as vice president and senior vice president. NPT is an independent public charity founded in 1996, which administers the Atkins Foundation as a supporting organization. Prior to joining NPT at its inception, Ms. Heisman served as director of planned giving at Abington Memorial Hospital and was the first development officer at the Philadelphia Foundation. In her professional career, Ms. Heisman has raised more than $650 million in charitable gifts. She is a nationally recognized expert on planned giving, and was among the first fundraising professionals nationally to earn the distinguished Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executives (ACFRE) designation. She serves on the board and faculty of Leadership, Inc., and on the boards of Arcadia University, the E-Philanthropy Foundation, Jewish Community Center of Greater Philadelphia and Maccabi USA/Sports for Israel. In 2003, Ms. Heisman was named Fundraising Executive of the Year by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and recognized as one of Philadelphia’s Women of Distinction by the Philadelphia Business Journal. She has a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University, a Masters of Social Work from the University of Michigan, and was a member of the third Wharton Fellows class, for which she received a full scholarship.
